Helge Barstad

Helge Barstad (9 May 1928 – 22 September 2012) was a Norwegian judge and Conservative Party politician. He was born in Vartdal and served as mayor of Førde from 1979 to 1981. When Willoch's First Cabinet took office in 1981, he was appointed state secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and held the job until 1983. Outside politics, he worked as a land consolidation judge. He died in September 2012. His daughter Hilde Barstad also became a politician.
