Harry W. Bolens
Harry W. Bolens (January 13, 1864 – 1944) was a Wisconsin politician. He was born Harry Wilbur Bolens in Washington, Iowa, and moved to Wisconsin with his family in 1866, living in Janesville and later Port Washington. In 1879, Bolens served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish–American War. He was mayor of Port Washington from 1906 to 1908 and again from 1910 to 1914, and he also served on the Port Washington Common Council and on the Ozaukee County Board of Supervisors, where he was chairman. In 1920, he ran for the U.S. House in Wisconsin's 2nd district but lost to Edward Voigt. Bolens was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from the 2nd district from 1933 to 1940. He ran for Governor in 1938 but lost to Julius P. Heil. He was a delegate to the 1944 Democratic National Convention. He died October 24, 1944, at his home. His house, the Harry W. Bolens House, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
