Hamptoniella
Hamptoniella is an extinct genus of sponge known from the Middle Cambrian Burgess Shale fossils. It is classified as an animal in the phylum Porifera (sponges), within the class Demospongiae, order Protomonaxonida, and family Hamptoniidae. The genus, described by Rigby & Collins in 2004, includes two species: Hamptoniella foliata and Hamptoniella hirsuta.
