Hamar is the women’s basketball team of Íþróttafélagið Hamar, based in Hveragerði, Iceland. They compete in Iceland’s women’s leagues. The club has played under several names: Hamar (2000–2004), Hamar/Selfoss (2004–2006), Hamar (2006–2020), and since 2020 as Hamar/Þór, a joint team with Þór Þorlákshöfn in the second division (1. deild kvenna). Their home arena is Frystikistan, and the team colors are blue and white. The head coach is Hallgrímur Brynjólfsson. They were runners-up in the 2010 national championship, and the following season had the best regular-season record. In May 2020, they announced the launch of a joint women’s team with Þór for the 1. deild kvenna.
