Green Party of Alberta

The Green Party of Alberta (GPA) is a provincial political party in Alberta, Canada. It is part of the broader Green movement in Canada and is allied with the Green Party of Canada and other provincial Green parties.

History
- The Alberta Greens were deregistered in 2009 after a leadership dispute and a missed annual financial filing.
- An independent group formed the Evergreen Party of Alberta, gathered about 8,500 signatures, and registered on December 22, 2011.
- The party ran in the 2012 election under the Evergreen banner and changed its name to the Green Party of Alberta on November 1, 2012.
- Past leaders include interim leader Larry Ashmore (2011–2012), Janet Keeping (2012–2017), Romy Tittel (2017–2018), Coral Bliss Taylor (interim, 2018), Cheryle Chagnon-Greyeyes (2018–2019), William Carnegie (interim, 2019–2020), and Jordan Wilkie (2020–2023). Wilkie resigned on September 18, 2023. James Anderson was named interim leader on November 22, 2025.
