Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Georgia has taken part in Eurovision 17 times since debuting in 2007. The Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) runs Georgia’s entries and is a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Georgia has reached the final eight times, with two top-ten finishes: ninth place in 2010 with Shine and ninth place in 2011 with One More Day.
A brief history:
- 2007: Debut. Qualified from the semi-final (8th) but finished 12th in the final.
- 2008: Qualified for the final, finishing 11th (semi-final 5th).
- 2009: GPB withdrew after a controversial song; did not compete.
- 2010: Finished 9th in the final with Shine.
- 2011: Finished 9th in the final with One More Day.
- 2012: Failed to reach the final with Anri Jokhadze and the song “I’m a Joker.”
- 2013: Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani finished 15th.
- 2014: Shin and Mariko Ebralidze finished last in the semi-final.
- 2015: Nina Sublatti finished 11th.
- 2016: Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz finished 20th in the final (after placing 9th in the semi-final).
- 2017: Tamara Gachechiladze did not qualify, finishing 11th in the semi-final.
- 2018: Iriao did not qualify, finishing last in the semi-final.
- 2019: Oto Nemsadze did not qualify, finishing 14th in the first semi-final.
- 2020: Contest canceled due to COVID-19; Kipiani was selected for 2021.
- 2021: Tornike Kipiani did not qualify, finishing 16th in the semi-final.
- 2022: Circus Mircus did not qualify, finishing 18th in the semi-final.
- 2023: Iru Khechanovi did not qualify, finishing 12th in the second semi-final.
- 2024: Nutsa Buzaladze qualified for the final and finished 21st.
