General-Western P-2 Meteor
General-Western Meteor, also known as the Air Transport Mfg Meteor, Phantom Meteor, and Bantam Meteor, was a small American parasol-wing airplane built by General-Western Aero Corp. It was designed by Albin Peterson and only six were built. Development began after the P-1 at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, with the P-2-S produced at Goleta Airport. The aircraft received its American type certificate on May 6, 1932, and was one of the early planes to use all-metal propellers. In 1935 the rights to the design were sold to the Air Transport Mfg Co. The P-2-S variant was a high-wing, parasol-wing aircraft with conventional landing gear powered by a 100 hp Kinner radial engine. The prototype was destroyed during testing in 1930.
