Escavadodon was an extinct, pangolin-like mammal that ate ants. It lived in North America during the middle Paleocene, about 61.4 to 60.9 million years ago. It belongs to its own small family, Escavadodontidae, within the extinct order Palaeanodonta. The only species is Escavadodon zygus, known from fossils found in the Nacimiento Formation in New Mexico. The name means "tooth from Escavada."
