Don't Want to Wait Anymore
“Don’t Want to Wait Anymore” is a song by the American rock band The Tubes. It was released in June 1981 as the lead single from their fifth album, The Completion Backward Principle. The track was recorded in August 1980. The single version is 3:50 long (the album version is 4:18). It was released by Capitol Records and written by The Tubes and David Foster, who also produced the song. Unlike most Tubes songs, which feature Fee Waybill on lead vocals, this track is sung by Bill Spooner, the band’s guitarist. The song reached the Top 40 in the United States and Australia in the summer of 1981 and was a minor hit in the United Kingdom. The B-side of the single is “Think About Me.” In 1981, the band released “Prime Time” before it and “Talk to Ya Later” after it.
