Divčibare
Divčibare is a town and mountain resort on Mount Maljen in western Serbia, southeast of Valjevo, at about 980 metres above sea level. It is a popular destination all year round because of its pleasant climate and easy access from Belgrade, about 115 kilometres away. The permanent population is small—around 140 people—but many visitors stay in weekend houses and hotels.
In winter, Divčibare is snow-covered for about three to four months, with two main ski tracks (roughly 850 m and 650 m) and several beginner runs. In other seasons the weather is mild and sunny, with about 280 sunny days per year, thanks to winds from the Mediterranean.
Divčibare is reachable by well-maintained roads from Valjevo, Mionica, and Požega, making it convenient for day trips or weekend getaways.
Nearby attractions and excursions include Valjevo, the Petnica Sports and Recreational Centre with pools and mineral water, Petnica Cave, the Church of the Holy Mother’s Assumption, the village of Brankovina, and the Pustinja Monastery.
