Charlotte Caslick
Charlotte Emily Caslick OAM (born 9 March 1995) is an Australian rugby player who has excelled in both rugby sevens and rugby league. She was born in Brisbane and grew up in Corinda, attending Brisbane State High School. She plays for The Tribe at club level and is engaged to rugby union player Lewis Holland.
Caslick made her Australian debut in rugby sevens in 2013 and quickly became one of the sport’s top players. She helped Australia win gold at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics—the first Olympic gold for Australia in women’s rugby sevens. She also played a key role in Australia’s success at the Commonwealth Games, including a gold medal-winning team at the 2022 Birmingham games, and was part of the Australian squad that won the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup in Cape Town.
During the COVID-19 pause in 2020, Caslick switched to rugby league and joined the Sydney Roosters in the NRL Women's Premiership. She made her NRLW debut in Round 1, starting at five-eighth and running for a large number of metres, but Round 2 brought two small fractures to her spine, ending her season. When the sevens circuit resumed in 2021, she returned to the Australian 7s team.
Caslick has earned various honors, including being named to World Rugby’s 2014–15 Team of the Season and receiving a nomination for the World Sevens Player of the Year in 2015. She has competed for Touch Football Australia and represented Australia at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2013 and the Rugby Sevens World Cup in 2013.
In 2020/2021, Caslick was part of Australia’s sevens squad for the Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021), where the team reached the quarterfinals. In 2024, she was chosen to lead the Australian sevens side for the Paris Olympics. She was also named the national captain for the sevens and remains a leading figure in Australian women’s rugby.
