Cefcapene is a third‑generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It fights bacterial infections by interfering with the bacteria’s cell wall. The drug was patented in 1985 and approved for medical use in 1997. It is taken by mouth (oral administration) and is generally prescribed only with a doctor’s order.
