Bundey is a small locality in the Mid North region of South Australia. It lies on the plains between Burra and Morgan in the Regional Council of Goyder, along Goyder’s Line. The area roughly follows the boundaries of the cadastral Hundred of Bundey, except for the southwestern corner, which is part of Geranium Plains. Bundey was named in 1878 after politician William Henry Bundey. The land was originally Ngadjuri country. European farmers began taking up 500-acre blocks in 1879. Bundey Post Office operated from 1 May 1882 to 1 October 1901. Immanuel Lutheran Church was established in 1889; the first building was pug and daub, and after a storm a more substantial limestone-and-brick church replaced it around 1900–1905. The church also served as a weekday school with lessons in German and English, until its closure by the state government in 1917. The church itself closed in January 1925 and is now an abandoned ruin. In 2021, Bundey had a population of 0. The postcode is 5320.
