Brazi
Brazi is a commune in Prahova County, Romania, in the region of Muntenia. It includes six villages: Bătești, Brazii de Jos, Brazii de Sus (the center), Negoiești, Popești, and Stejaru. The name means "firs" (pine trees). The mayor for 2020–2024 is Leonaș Radu (PNL). The area covers 45.42 square kilometers and sits about 131 meters above sea level.
In 2021, Brazi had 7,811 residents, most of them Romanian. The Petrobrazi Refinery, one of Romania’s largest oil refineries, is located here. In Negoiești is the headquarters of the 635th Anti-aircraft Defense Battalion of the 1st Maneuver Support Brigade "Argedava." The commune is home to the CS Brazi men's and CS Brazi women's football teams, who play at Stadionul Chimia.
