Berrington (1783 EIC ship)
Berrington was a British East Indiaman launched in 1783. Built by Perry & Hankey at Blackwall (some sources name Randall), she was a large merchant ship of about 756–816 tons. She made six long voyages for the British East India Company, sailing mainly to Madras and Bengal under captains including John Johnson, Thomas Ley, and George Robertson. After her EIC service, she briefly became a West Indiaman.
In 1799 she was bought by Prinsep & Co. and used for a voyage to Bengal to bring rice to England for the government, with Captain Michael Bonner holding a letter of marque. She returned to English and Indian waters in the early 1800s and was last listed in 1807; her ultimate fate after that is unknown.
