Arno goby
The Arno goby (Padogobius nigricans) is an endangered fish found only in Italy. It belongs to the goby family (Gobiidae) and lives in streams, staying near well-vegetated edges. Males reach about 12.5 cm in length, while females reach about 7 cm. It is endemic to Italy and has had several older scientific names, such as Gobius nigricans and Gobius fluviatilis nigricans. It was first described by Canestrini in 1867.
