The Anglican Diocese of Quincy is part of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). It includes about 29 parishes and around 3,663 members as of 2024, with most congregations in Illinois and some in several other states. The diocese helped found ACNA in 2009.

Founded in 1877, the Diocese of Quincy was part of the Episcopal Church until November 2009, when its synod voted to leave and align with the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone as part of the Anglican realignment. The diocese keeps the historic see city of Quincy and its cathedral, St. John’s Cathedral, in Quincy, even though diocesan offices are in Peoria.

The diocese is led by Bishop Juan Alberto Morales, elected in 2010 and installed by Archbishop Robert Duncan. He followed Bishop Keith L. Ackerman, who served from 1994 to 2008. The diocese does not ordain women to the priesthood, but there are eight female deacons.

The move away from the Episcopal Church has been controversial, with disputes over legitimacy and jurisdiction within the broader Anglican world. The diocese receives support from the Southern Cone and related networks and remains part of ACNA today. Website: dioceseofquincy.org.
