Acâș is a commune in Satu Mare County, in western Romania’s Crișana region. It has 2,728 residents (2021) and covers 63.78 square kilometers. The commune includes four villages: Acâș, Ganaș, Mihăieni, and Unimăt.

Location and geography
Acâș lies in the southern part of the county, about 38 kilometers from the city of Satu Mare. The Crasna River flows through Acâș village, and the Ier River runs through Mihăieni.

Transport
The DN19A road, part of the European route E81, crosses Acâș. It connects Supur in the south with Satu Mare and continues toward the Hungary border at Dorolț.

Population and language
In 2002, the population was mainly Hungarian, with Romanians and Roma also present. In 2011, Hungarians, Roma, and Romanians were all part of the community. By 2021, the largest group was the Roma (about 40.6%), followed by Hungarians (about 32.2%) and Romanians (about 21.7%). Hungarian is widely spoken as a first language, with Romanian also used.

From 2020 to 2024, the mayor is Tibor Balogh (PNL). The elevation is 136 meters. The postal code is 447005.
