2020–21 Aston Villa W.F.C. season
Aston Villa W.F.C.’s 2020–21 season was their first in the FA Women’s Super League (WSL) after earning promotion from the Championship, and the club’s first season as a fully professional team. It was Villa’s 25th season with the Aston Villa name and 47th overall.
They finished 10th in the WSL. In cup competitions, they reached the Fourth round of the FA Cup and the Quarter-finals of the League Cup.
Ahead of the season, the team moved their home games from the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground to the Bescot Stadium in Walsall.
Management changed during the season: Gemma Davies was head coach until 25 January 2021; Marcus Bignot became interim manager from 25 January, with the rest of the coaching staff staying in place.
Ownership and leadership: NSWE Group owned the club, with Nassef Sawiris as chairman.
Top scorers: Ramona Petzelberger was the top league scorer with 3 goals; Shania Hayles and Nadine Hanssen each scored 4 goals in all competitions.
FA Cup entry: As a top-tier team, Villa entered the FA Cup in the fourth round. The round was delayed due to COVID-19 and was originally scheduled for 31 January 2021.
