The 2008 CIS Men's Soccer Championship Finals took place November 6–9, 2008 at Carleton University in Ottawa. Eight teams from CIS conferences competed: the host Carleton; two teams from the OUA; two from the QSSF; two from Canada West; and one from the AUS.

The tournament used a playoff format where the top six teams advance, and seeds 1 and 2 receive byes to the semifinals. Mount Allison hosted the season, with qualifiers including UNB, St. Mary’s, Dalhousie, Moncton and UPEI. The top four teams would reach the semifinals.

Qualifying teams included McGill, Montreal and Laval. The OUA playoff system takes the top six teams from the East and West divisions; the top two get byes to the quarterfinals, with Round 1 matching #6 vs #3 and #5 vs #4. In later rounds, higher seeds face the lowest seeds. The top four seeds were Laurier, York, Carleton and Toronto, earning spots in the semifinals and, with the Final Four hosted by the top seed, the final rounds would be staged accordingly.

At the time, UBC, Victoria and Trinity Western had clinched spots. The CIS also published a top-ten ranking.
