1980–81 Saint Joseph's Hawks men's basketball team

The 1980–81 Saint Joseph's Hawks men’s basketball team represented Saint Joseph’s University in the East Coast Conference. They went 25–8 overall and 9–2 in conference play, under third-year head coach Jim Lynam, with Jim Boyle as an assistant. Home games were played at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. The Hawks won the ECC tournament, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 9 seed in the Mideast region. They defeated Creighton (No. 8), DePaul (No. 1), and Boston College (No. 5) to reach the Elite Eight. They then lost to Indiana (No. 3 seed and eventual national champions) in the regional final, on Indiana’s home court.
