1978 SANFL Grand Final: Norwood defeated Sturt by 1 point at Football Park, Adelaide, on 30 September 1978. Final score: Norwood 16.15 (111) to Sturt 14.26 (110). Attendance: 50,867. Sturt had lost only one game all season and were the favourites, leading by 29 points at three-quarter time. But Norwood staged a dramatic comeback in the final quarter, kicking 7.5 (45) to Sturt’s 2.5 (17) to win the premiership. This was Norwood’s 24th premiership.
