1820 Connecticut gubernatorial election
Oliver Wolcott Jr., the incumbent governor of Connecticut, was reelected in the 1820 gubernatorial election held on April 13, 1820. Running as the Toleration Party candidate, he defeated two Federalist rivals: former delegate Nathan Smith and former congressman and state legislator Timothy Pitkin. Wolcott received 15,738 votes (76.14%), while Smith earned 2,659 votes (12.86%) and Pitkin 1,140 votes (5.52%).
