Viorica Susanu
Viorica Susanu (born 29 October 1975 in Galați, Romania) is a Romanian rower and four-time Olympic gold medalist. She helped Romania win the women’s eight at the World Rowing Championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999, and won Olympic gold in Sydney 2000 with the eight. With Georgeta Damian, she won the world title in the women’s pair in 2001 and 2002, setting a world best time in 2002 while also rowing in the eight. At the 2004 Athens Olympics she won gold in both the women’s pair and the women’s eight, and she won gold in the women’s coxless pair at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
