Totilawati Tjitrawasita
Totilawati Tjitrawasita (1945–1982), also known by her pen name Mbak Minuk, was an Indonesian journalist and writer. Born June 1, 1945, in Kediri, East Java, she worked as assistant editor for the Japanese-language magazine Jaya Baya. She won the Zakse award for young journalists in 1970, and many of her stories were first published in Japanese. In 1977 she published Sekolah Rakyat (School Crush), which won first prize for fiction from the Book of the Year Foundation. In 1979 she was made an honorary citizen of Surabaya for her contributions to the arts, including serving on the city's arts council. In 1980 she participated in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa.
