Swedish-Korean Association
Swedish-Korean Association (SKA), based in Stockholm, is a Sweden-based friendship group with North Korea. It was formed in 1969. Since 1972 its aims include spreading knowledge about Korea, supporting reunification, and seeking recognition of the DPRK. The association openly supports the North Korean regime and its right to exist and defend itself, and maintains friendly relations with North Korea.
SKA organizes study meetings, conferences, rallies, workshops, exhibitions, and trips to North Korea. It provided humanitarian aid during North Korea's famine and runs Juche study seminars and book translations/publishing. Since 1970 it has published the quarterly Korea-information. The association has roughly 300 members and is independent of any political party. In 2011 its Vice Chairman was interviewed by state radio after Kim Jong-il's death.
