Skiltron is an Argentine Celtic/folk metal band formed in 2004 in Buenos Aires by Emilio Souto. Since 2018 they have been based in Europe (Finland, Spain, and France). They started with a 3-song demo, Gathering the Clans (2004), and released their debut album, The Clans Have United, in 2006 on Underground Symphony (Italy). This was followed by Beheading the Liars (2008) and The Highland Way (2010). Their 2016 album, Legacy of Blood, was released by Trollzorn Records.

In Argentina, they often played with bands like Grave Digger, In Extremo, and Korpiklaani, and they toured South America in 2010. Their European debut came in the UK in 2012, with guest Martin Walkyier from Sabbat and Skyclad. After Into the Battleground (2013), Skiltron began regular European tours, playing festivals such as Wacken and Bloodstock, and sharing stages with bands like Judas Priest, Slayer, In Flames, King Diamond, and Avantasia. The 2016 album was followed by a European tour with about 50 shows in 20 countries, including a UK run with Iron Seawolf.

In 2017 they performed in Japan with Equilibrium and Suidakra. Skiltron are known for mixing heavy metal with Celtic music and often using bagpipes. Their songs are in English. The name Skiltron comes from schiltron, a Scottish military formation.
