Semantics (Lyons book)
Semantics is a two-volume book on linguistic meaning by Sir John Lyons, first published in 1977 by Cambridge University Press. Volume I and Volume II explore how words and sentences convey meaning and how interpretation works in language. The work was reviewed by Jonathan Cohen, Östen Dahl, George A. Miller, and Katherine Miller. It is a landmark reference in the study of semantics.
