San Stefano Grand Plaza
San Stefano Grand Plaza is a large, multi-use complex in Alexandria, Egypt. It includes a hotel, private apartments, offices, a shopping mall and a marina. The project sits on the Corniche and opened in 2007. It was designed by WZMH Architects for the Talaat Moustafa Group.
History: The site used to host the famous San Stefano Hotel and Casino in the early 20th century. The old hotel was demolished after the land was sold to a private developer, and the current complex was built in its place.
What’s inside: The shopping center hosts luxury shops and one of the city’s largest cinema complexes. The hotel offers sea-view rooms, and there is a residential area with many amenities and its own parking.
Height and location: The building is the tallest in Alexandria, about 135 meters tall with 32 floors. It is easy to reach: about 3 km from Sidi Gaber Station, 10 km from the city entrance, and around 9 km from the city center. The complex has views from a park to the Eastern Harbor.
Future plans: There are plans to add a private beach and a marina.
Surroundings: The complex spans four streets, including the Corniche, and is near the San Stefano tram station.
