Sam Duluk
Sam Duluk is an Australian former politician who served in the South Australian House of Assembly from 2015 to 2022. He represented Davenport from 2015 to 2018 and Waite from 2018 to 2022. He started as a Liberal member but became an independent in 2020 after allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
Born in Mildura, Victoria, Duluk is of Polish descent and was raised in Adelaide. He went to Marryatville High School and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Adelaide, working as an accountant. He was active in the Liberal Party and served as state president of the SA Young Liberal Movement.
Duluk won Davenport in a 2015 by-election, turning a safe Liberal seat into a marginal one. After a redistribution, he ran for Waite in 2018 and won. In 2020, amid allegations of inappropriate behaviour at a parliamentary Christmas party, he took leave from parliament and left the Liberal Party to sit as an independent while the matter was investigated. He faced legal proceedings over a separate incident and, in 2021, was found not guilty of assault but was criticized for rude and disrespectful conduct. New allegations emerged in September 2021 about remarks at a 2019 Christmas party, including sexual and homophobic comments, and a remark about an Indigenous MP. On 9 September 2021 he announced he would run as an independent in the next election.
Duluk stood as an independent in the 2022 South Australian state election but finished in third place. Since leaving parliament, he has worked as a political lobbyist.
