Södermanland Runic Inscription 109
Sö 109 is a Viking Age runestone in Gredby, near Eskilstuna, in Södermanland, Sweden. The inscription is carved in the younger Futhark inside two serpents that surround a Christian cross. The stone is 3.27 meters tall, made of granite, and carved in runestone style Pr2 (Ringerike). It was first noted in 1686 as part of a bridge at Gredby, and like many stones it was reused in building projects. Rediscovered in 1864, it was set by the road and moved to its current location in 1931. It stands beside Sö 107 and Sö 108, two Ingvar runestones. The text says that Ormarr and Véfríðr, together with their blood relatives, raised the stone as a memorial to Þólfr.
