Restinga da Marambaia
Restinga da Marambaia is a 42-kilometer-long sandy area on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It separates Sepetiba Bay from the Atlantic Ocean and is shared by the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, and Mangaratiba. The Brazilian Army owns and runs the restinga. It’s used as a leisure spot for military staff and their families and friends, and as a place for scientific research in the untouched Atlantic Forest there. It has also appeared as a filming location in telenovelas such as Kubanacan and Da Cor do Pecado.
