Muirpur Airport, also spelled Myorpur, is a government airport being upgraded from an existing airstrip in Muirpur, Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is planned to serve nearby towns in Sonbhadra and Singrauli, as well as parts of Balrampur-Ramanujanjganj and Garhwa districts. The airport sits about 342 meters above sea level and has a single asphalt runway (08/26) that is 2,000 meters (6,560 feet) long. It aims to support the power-rich region, including Northern Coalfields Limited coal fields and NTPC projects in Renukut and Robertsganj. The area is known as the Energy Capital of India because of its many power stations. The airport will be connected to nearby rail and road links, with domestic flights planned from Lucknow in the future.
