Motiur Rahman Rentu (1954–2007) was a Bangladeshi politician and writer. He was born in Muksudpur, Gopalganj District, and fought in the 1971 Liberation War as a freedom fighter. He later worked with Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina as a colleague and adviser from 1981 to 1997, and his status as a freedom fighter is officially recognized.
