Kean St. Charles

Kean St. Charles was an American politician from Arizona. He was born in Virginia in 1855 and moved to Arizona in 1893. He briefly worked for the Mohave County Miner newspaper, then helped found Our Mineral Wealth, a weekly paper in Kingman. He was involved in the mining industry and discovered several mineral properties.

St. Charles served in Arizona’s territorial government before statehood, including time in the Arizona House of Representatives and in the Territorial Council. After Arizona became a state, he served in the Arizona State Senate representing Mohave County during multiple terms: 1923–1926, 1929–1930, and 1933–1934. He was a member of the Democratic Party.

He died on September 4, 1945, at his daughter’s home in Long Beach, California.
