Gaztañaga Destroyer is a small semi-automatic pistol designed by Isidro Gaztañaga in 1913 in Eibar, Basque Country. It uses .25 ACP ammunition and was made by Gaztañaga y Companía in Eibar. It is known for a safety lever above the grip, a feature of the Eibar Type safety. A .32 ACP version followed, built for the French army during World War I. The standard magazine held nine rounds, but many production guns used six or seven. The pistol copies the design of John Browning’s 1906 pistol and bears the initials "I.G." It was issued to Spanish fifth columnists in the Spanish Civil War because of its small size and easy concealment. The .25 ACP round is not very powerful and works best at very close range. Barrel length is 2 inches (5.1 cm) and overall length is a little over 4.25 inches (10.8 cm).
