Exo is the public transit agency for the outer suburbs and exurbs of Greater Montreal. It began on June 1, 2017, taking over twelve former local transit agencies and is now part of the ARTM fare system.

What Exo offers: bus service, paratransit (for riders with mobility needs), taxibus (shared taxis), and on‑demand transit. Exo operates about 219 bus routes and 72 taxibus routes, plus on‑demand service in four areas, from 13 hubs. Each year, about 16.6 million people ride Exo buses, around 90,000 use on‑demand service, and about 736,000 use paratransit.

Where it runs: the northern and southern suburbs of Greater Montreal. Exo fares follow the ARTM system and mostly stay in fare zones C and D, with some express routes reaching zones A or B. Some local services may be fare‑free, and a few municipalities outside ARTM pay Zone D.

Recent changes and expansion:
- 2021: On‑demand buses piloted in McMasterville and Beloeil.
- 2022: Expanded to Terrebonne; Express d’Oka line became Exo 744 in the Laurentides sector.
- 2023–2024: Remodelling of lines near the Samuel‑De Champlain Bridge due to the REM; network redesigns in Chambly‑Richelieu‑Carignan and Richelain/Roussillon sectors. Exo also expanded to Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire, Otterburn Park, and Boisbriand in 2024.
- 2024: Haut-Saint-Laurent sector merged into Sud‑Ouest sector.

Exo’s services are organized by sectors within ARTM fare zones C and D.
