Choi Byung-hoon
Choi Byung Hoon (최병훈), born in 1952 in Kangwon-do, South Korea, is a South Korean artist often called the father of Contemporary Korean Design. He earned a degree in applied fine arts from Hongik University in 1974 and later completed an MFA there. He is known for renewing Korean design traditions and drawing inspiration from Mayan, Incan, African, and Indian cultures. He taught in the College of Fine Arts at Hongik University in Seoul from 1990 to 2017 and is now an Honorary Professor there.
