Bobby Robinson (footballer, born 1950)
Bobby Robinson (Robert Sharp Robinson) was a Scottish footballer born in Edinburgh on 10 November 1950. He played as a midfielder. His senior career started at Falkirk (1969–1972), then Dundee (1972–1978) where he appeared in 149 league games and scored 16 goals. He then spent a season with Dundee United (1978–1979), followed by Hearts (1979–1981) and Raith Rovers (1981–1983). In total, he made 298 league appearances and scored 22 goals. Internationally, he earned four Scotland caps from 1974 to 1975 and also played once for Scotland U23, scoring one goal. After retiring, he helped develop Dundee United’s reserves in 1989 and later worked as a teacher in Kirriemuir and Brechin. He died after a long illness on 24 December 1996, at the age of 46.
