Bill Chott
Bill Chott is an American actor and comedian born on July 23, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri. He is best known for playing Mr. Laritate on the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place.
Chott grew up in Missouri, graduating from Ritenour High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Central Methodist University. He was inducted into Ritenour High School’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2010. After college, he moved to Chicago in 1992 to pursue improv, working with ComedySportz, the IO Theater, and the Second City alongside future stars like Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler.
His TV debut came in 1995 on The Dana Carvey Show, where he also voiced the Ambiguously Gay Duo. His film credits include Galaxy Quest, Dude, Where’s My Car?, and The Ringer. On television, he has appeared on many shows such as 3rd Rock from the Sun, Freaks and Geeks, ER, CSI, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Young Sheldon, This Is Us, and Monk. He also played Fred Mertz in I Love Lucy: Live on Stage.
Today, Chott teaches improvisational comedy through The Improv Trick in Los Angeles and St. Louis.
