Plot in short
Kevin, Holly, and their dad Bob join Marineland, the local aquarium, one year after meeting Bernie the Dolphin. Bernie’s back, and so is Bob’s old rival, Winston Mills, who is released from prison and must live at the aquarium under supervision. Winston tries to seem changed, but a former partner, Devin Cruz, wants to use him to steal Bernie and pays him to help. Kevin hopes to impress a girl named Ellie, while Holly helps Bernie deal with the new trouble.

Ellie and her friend Harper wind up lost at sea, and Bernie and his dolphin pod rescue them and Bob and the kids. Afterward, Kevin and Holly discover Cruz’s plan to steal Bernie and sell him to a Marine Park in South America. They also learn that Cruz is trying to get Kevin’s GPS device by getting Winston to help him.

Meanwhile, Winston grows closer to the dolphins, but Cruz pressures him to take part in the heist. A boat with a tank is rented to kidnap Bernie, and Frankie Franklin helps with the plan. In the end, Kevin and Holly rescue the kids, the Coast Guard helps save the parents, and Cruz is arrested. The kids decide to forgive Winston, and they all say goodbye to Bernie and his pod.

Release and reception
Bernie the Dolphin 2 was released on December 17, 2019, on DVD, On Demand, and digital platforms. Common Sense Media gave the film two out of five stars.
