Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed in 2005 when two local bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment, merged. The group quickly gained fans with Tales Told by Dead Friends, their debut EP released in 2006, which sold over 50,000 copies without a label. They signed with Fearless Records and released A Lesson in Romantics in 2007. After the album, lead singer Jason Lancaster left the band.

They signed with Atlantic Records in 2009 and released Anywhere but Here that October, which reached the Billboard 200 and helped the band gain wider attention. Their self-titled third album arrived in 2011, followed by Monsters in the Closet in 2013. Black Lines came out in 2015, and Sunnyland, their sixth album, was released in 2018 after they joined Rise Records. What It Means to Fall Apart, their seventh album, was released in 2021.

In 2025, Mayday Parade announced a three-part album, with the first part, Sweet, released on April 18, 2025. The band is known for songs like When I Get Home, You’re So Dead and Miserable at Best, the latter earning a gold certification. They have toured extensively, including runs on the Vans Warped Tour and various headlining and co-headlining shows.

Band members are Derek Sanders (vocals), Alex Garcia (guitar), Brooks Betts (guitar), Jeremy Lenzo (bass), and Jake Bundrick (drums). Former member Jason Lancaster left in 2007 and later formed Go Radio.
