A. Perry Gordy Jr. (December 16, 1912 – May 7, 1983) was an American businessman and politician from Columbus, Georgia. He served as a Republican in the Georgia State Senate, representing the 15th district from January 14, 1963, to May 17, 1965. Gordy was the first Republican elected from Muscogee County in Georgia history. He was born in Columbus to Arthur Perry Gordy Sr., a dentist, and Edna Adele Gordy. He finished Columbus High School in 1929, earned a BS in engineering from Alabama Polytechnic Institute in 1936, and earned a master's in education from the University of Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II, from 1942 to 1945. In May 1965, he became director of the Columbus Area Vocational Technical School and left the Senate. He married Martha Louisa Trimble on February 1, 1948, and they had three children. He died in Columbus on May 7, 1983, at age 70.
